President Potash and CCC graduate Candace Walker on WGN

President Potash and CCC graduate Candace Walker were on WGN on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, talking about City Colleges.

Candace has an inspiring story – CCC changed her life in 5 months. Single mom who moved her two kids from Arkansas and her minimum wage job there. Then at the beginning of this year she enrolled in Kennedy-King’s Dawson Technical Institute – in its construction-carpentry program. She didn’t know how to use a tape measure last year and now makes over $40 an hour rehabbing empty CHA properties. Finished on 5/8, started work on 5/8. Life changed.
