Peer Mentor Leadership Program Seeks Student Participants

The Peer Mentor Leadership Program is seeking Wright College students looking to make a difference in their lives and the lives of their fellow students. Applications are now available for the Fall 2014 cohort of Peer Mentor Leaders and may be picked up in the Wright in Your Corner (WiYC) student center in S-100. Applications are also available here.

The mission of the newly developed program at Wright College is to promote college success, build relationships between new and experienced students, and help students navigate the college campus and take advantage of the resources available to them in the community.

Students receiving financial aid may apply to the program as a work study position and receive compensation (15 hours/week requirement). Peer Mentors will gain a wealth of skills and opportunities in the program, including:

  • Resume-building experience
  • Leadership skills
  • Job skills training
  • One-on-one faculty support
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Professional and social networking opportunities

 To be eligible for the Peer Mentor Leadership Program, students will need:

  • a GPA of 2.7 or higher
  • 12 or more credit hours
  • a completed recommendation form from a faculty or staff member
  • minimum two hours per week availability
