How did Nicki Minaj help a Wright College student?

Pedro Velazquez, a 27 year old Wright College student, is pursuing his educational goals at a slow pace because he has to pay for it himself. He’s a HUGE Nicki Minaj fan – check out his twitter handle and you’ll see that – but what does that matter?

It’s May of this year and Pedro hears about a very cool thing his idol is doing – she’s offering to pay fans’ college bills on twitter. So since he likes Wright College and wants his degree, Pedro moves on this.

And what happens?

Pedro found himself on a conference call with Wright’s business office and Onika’s (her real name) people. Now he’s enrolled at Wright College and enjoying it, even more convinced that Nicki is simply the best, and about a year away from his degree and jumpstarting a career as a physical therapy assistant (PTA school will be his next stop). As far as he knows, he is the only Chicago college student Minaj has done this for.
