Monet graduated from Lane Tech High School in 2014. She joined Wright College during the spring 2015 semester with the intention of pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Monet was admitted to the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, University of California Santa Barbara and De Paul University but joined Wright College due to financial reasons. During her first semester at Wright, she was actively involved in the American Chemical Society- Wright College Student Chapter (ACS) in which she eventually became president. During her term as president, ACS Wright’s chapter was not only able to win the Outstanding Chapter National award but also the ACS Green Chapter award as well. Monet was a CCC STEM scholar, a national ACS scholar, and a Merck scholar. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Currently, she is an Illinois i-Promise scholar, and ExxonMobil scholar, ACS scholar, and Merck scholar. At U of I, she is actively involved in the National Society of Black Engineers and the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers. She is currently participating in tissue engineering research, and she will be participating in Optimized Operations Engineering Internship at 3M in summer of 2018. Monet will be graduating as a Chemical Engineer at UIUC in December 2018.
